The practice that got me through.

“I love you. This is more than I was expecting.”

“This is what got me through. This is my comeback project.”

I’m Carl Weiss, founder of Vermont Forest. I developed Slow Yoga. Slow Yoga brings together stretching, a dark and quiet room, ingestible cannabis, and your body weight resting on the floor to unload your spine. One rule guides it: follow what feels good.

For Carl Weiss, this began as a personal practice during a long, multi-year illness. The preparation, cannabis oil, quiet room, and time on the floor belonged together. This was the practice he returned to through those years.

It was time to get horizontal, let gravity do some of the work, and explore slow movement and self-massage. Rolling, twisting, lingering, resting—following what he could feel in his own body.

A pronounced urge to stretch and move became one of the observations that kept the exploration going. Following it could reveal another sensation, then another movement. The question grew: what happens when you give that exchange your attention?

That inquiry became Slow Yoga: the entire practice, including ingestible cannabis, sensory management, and sensation-led movement. Enhanced Biofeedback is the working model for exploring how the pieces might fit together.

The original oil

Liquid Stretch.
Where this started.

Liquid Stretch is the original cannabis-oil formulation from which this work developed. The recipe began with a slow-cooked, whole-plant infusion using organic ingredients where available. THC and CBD met an oil carrier and lecithin; a touch of vanilla rounded it out.

The food and ritual were part of the story: combining the oil with yogurt, whole milk, or a meal with some fat; showering; changing into comfortable clothes; and creating darkness with a blindfold or a dark room. Chicken fat was one example, not a required ingredient.

An observation, then a question

“My body wants to move.”

We call that reported urge the Stretch Impulse. Some people described a pronounced, sometimes spontaneous wish to stretch or move after using the oil formulation.

The personal accounts on this site belong to that original formulation work.

From Vermont Forest

The names now.

Vermont Forest is the origin and institutional home of this work. Carl Weiss developed Slow Yoga through Vermont Forest: the larger stretching practice shaped by Liquid Stretch experimentation, sensory management, and the Enhanced Biofeedback model.

Liquid Stretch Formula is the original Slow Yoga oil from Vermont Forest. The oil is designed to pair with the practice; the practice includes the preparation, attention, and movement that developed around it.
